The hotel is managed by the Croon family for more than 25 years, and guests will get the friendly and helpful service of a family owned business. In addition to accommodation, the hotel also offers airport transfers. Customers can hire a vehicle and go on a tour. Hunting, fishing and diving tours are also arranged.

The hotel has a restaurant and lounge for the guests, a public bar with meals and can also arrange for grocery suppliers for backpackers with a limited budget. The hotel has a souvenir shop, where customers can purchase local crafts. Waitangi also has a number craft stores selling local crafts and trinkets.

The Hotel Chatham has a number of options for accommodation of the tourists to Chatham depending on their budget and other requirement. The Chatham Hotel is the standard hotel facility with friendly and helpful staff. The Travellers rest has been designed so that those who love outdoor activities like fishing, kayaking, and can relax peacefully after their activities. The Chatham Rise Motels have been recently renovated and offer the latest amenities to the customers. Admiral Garden cottage is a home stay which is 20 km from Waitangi with a garden. The owners of the hotel are the hosts for the Admiral cottage.

Lookout Backpackers is designed for visitors with a limited budget and is self contained. This cottage has an excellent view of the Petre bay and is located a few minutes walking distance from the main Chatham hotel. Up to 8 people can sleep in the rooms on the top floor , while up to 4 people can sleep in the rooms on the ground floor. All the rooms are self contained and fully furnished, so depending on the group size, visitors can book a single room, multiple rooms or the entire cottage. The cottage has a large lawn where the guests can relax. The large balconies on the first floor have a sea view. Rooms with single and double beds are offered.

Television, phone and internet facilities are available. The latest Bathroom, toilet facilities with showers are available. The inexpensive rooms are costing $100 per person per night, and have shared bathrooms. The more expensive rooms have a private bathroom and also a kitchenette allowing them to cook meals.

Food and Drinks of Note

The restaurant at the main hotel is open from 7 am in the morning till late at night. It serves breakfast and dinner, and packed lunches are available on request. The public bar at the hotel is open from 11 am in the morning till 1 am the next day from Monday to Saturday, 4pm to 9 pm on Sunday.

Lunch and dinner are served at the bar, while pies, snacks and sandwiches are available throughout the day. You can order some local crays, grouper and blue cod fish which are all cooked perfectly at the Hotel Chatham restaurant with great views included at no cost 🙂
