The Riv is a sports bar and bistro with a awesome pokies gaming lounge in the Clyde Shopping centre in Hamilton East. The pub is located at Shop number 12, Clyde shopping center, Clyde street in Hamilton East area of Hamilton in New Zealand. It is close to the Waikato river and the Sacred Hearts Girls College, Ebbett Volkswagen, Waikato Regional Council, McDonalds Hamilton East and the Cathedral Of The Blessed Virgin Mary is another local landmarks in the area.

Some of the roads in the area are Grey street, Clyde street and Cook street. The pub is open from 9 am to 10 pm from Monday to Saturday every week. On Sunday, it will open slightly later at 1 pm in the afternoon and closes at 10 pm at night. The pub has a parking lot where customers can park their own vehicle easily.

Once you get inside the front doors you will have a big decision to make, turning to your left and head on down towards the Lounge and Garden Bar where the main restaurant is located or just go straight ahead to the Sportman’s Bar where you will find the pokie machines, big TV’s, pool tables and jukebox.

The pub was opened in 1993 and has a loyal customer base. It is also a sports bar, and it has a large number of big screen televisions installed with a Sky Sports connection, where customers can enjoy watching their favorite sporting events in the company of their friends and family.

The horse racing and the rugby league matches featuring the New Zealand Warriors NRL team are some of the more popular sporting events at the pub. The pub also has a gaming area where customers can enjoy their favorite game on the pokies, plus a spin a wheel and win prizes event. The pub may be hired for functions at some of the best rates in the Hamilton East area.

Waikato Draught is one of the beers available, and it is prominently advertised on the bar. At times there are competitions for customers, in which they can win a Steinlager jacket or jersey if they consume Steinlager beer regularly. One of the advantages of the pub is the large outdoor seating area with wooden benches for seating and tables for those sunny days in Hamilton East. The courtesy van is available from 5 pm onwards, and customers can call to book a seat. Customers can also participate in the Joker Poker draw and win some money. They can also enjoy free music at the venue at select times.

You actually get two venues pretty much under the same roof here although separate trading wise. The Two Birds Eatery (not to be confused with Two Birds Cafe in Ruakaka) is located at the same address as The Riv and shares the same phone number as The Riv Sports Bar.

Two Birds is run by people who believe in flavourful food built from the ground up using only the freshest ingredients from local NZ suppliers that focus on sustainable living and community development. Lots of free range, organic and vegan items on the menu. The menu is seasonal and ever changing, it’s the best venue in Hamilton for a vegan meal, barista coffee, teas, cakes, smoothies (best in Hamilton), breakfast or a complete lunch.

You can also grab and go from the food cabinet which has awesome salads, delish burritos, yummy sausage rolls and rice paper rolls of several choices.  If you need a cake for any occasion these are your go-to people in Hamilton. The best cakes and sweet platters that you will ever taste can be ordered and decorated as required.

You can sit inside or outside in the lovely courtyard area for eats and drinks. It’s the best vegan food venue in Hamilton so it that’s your thing this is your place.
