About the Cav
While the exact time the hotel was built is not known, it is thought to have been established between 1864 & 1868. Initially, the hotel was known as the Suffolk hotel though this name was later changed to the Cavalier Tavern. Like most hotel in this era, it was built of wood which has surprisingly been able to hold up for 150 years.
In 1976 the hotel was taken over by Lion Breweries who established a mini-brewery that offered craft beer. Over the years the hotel has been leased and managed by different operators. In 2014 the hotel finally changed its name from the Cavaliers Tavern to its current name; The Cav.

For people who prefer dining outdoors, the hotel offers a spacious outdoor verandah dining that looks amazingly cozy. It is predominantly furnished with comfortable white wicker armchairs and pale timber tabletops. Additionally, the floral decor is on point with hanging baskets bursting with greenery and colorful flowers in huge classic vases.
- Parking Area’s.
To ensure that customers pack their automobiles securely and with peace of mind, the hotel offers a parking lot & street parking. Customers who park here are not charged a dime for the entire duration they spend in the hotel.
- Dining & Bar Information.
Like I stated earlier the main bar highlight in this hotel has got to be the gastropub where beers are custom crafted as you see them. Apart from the ales and lagers available on order, you also get a wide selection of wines and spirit to choose from.
